For the first time, the Centre has confirmed that if at all, only significantly older vehicles may require earlier replacement of some components due to E20 fuel.
In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri responded to concerns over ARAI findings that E20 could accelerate deterioration of certain fuel-system parts.
Puri said that in very old vehicles, some plastic parts, particularly gaskets, which may normally be replaced after around 50,000 km, could need replacement after about 30,000 km.
He added that such replacement is a small cost in the wider context of India’s ethanol blending programme. n18oc_india n18oc_breaking-news News18 Mobile App
