Officials say the operation was aimed at weakening Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, following another round of U.S. strikes carried out the previous night. The AP responded to the strikes by targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar in crossfire.
