Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said: “The Chief Minister will resign at 3 o’clock. Siddaramaiah said that we will make DK Shivakumar the new Chief Minister, he will become the Chief Minister." A Grand Victory, An Unsaid Pact The development marks a significant power transition in Karnataka after days of intense speculation and high-stakes meetings. The shift in the leadership of Karnataka comes nearly three years after the Congress party stormed to power in Karnataka. With his clean image and a massive supporter base across the state, Siddaramaiah was picked for the CM’s post. Shivakumar, on the other hand, was credited for rebuilding the organisation and shaping the party’s comeback in the state.
