Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asserted that his Government has decided to develop the State into three distinct layers — service, manufacturing and agricultural zones — as part of efforts to check ever increasing pollution and make the State capital (Hyderabad) the most liveable city. The government has accordingly planned the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE) and Rural and Agricultural Region Economy (RARE) for service sector, manufacturing and rural/agricultural economy in its pursuit of making the State US $3 trillion economy by 2047. The planning, he said, was prompted by the steep decline in the living conditions in metropolitan cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai where people had to remain indoors for days together.
“We need to learn lessons from them by controlling spread of pollution,” he said. At the same time, steps should be taken for employment generation and hence, planning of the three-layered development for promoting industry. The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the state-of-the-art solar module manufacturing facility of the Premier Energies at Shabad in Rangareddy district on Thursday (July 9, 2026). The unit spread over 75 acres has manufacturing capacity of 5.6 GW and would provide employment to 3,000. “This is the first unit to come up, the fastest to be completed within 12 months. The government is inviting major industries to set up their units here,” the Chief Minister said.
He took a jibe at the Opposition parties, the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) in particular, asking them to allow the government to work for the next two years as elections were still two and a half years away. “Allow us to work for two years and we will go to people explaining about our achievements in the last six months. Don’t vent your frustration over losing power on the government,” he said. The Chief Minister recalled the proactive steps initiated by the Congress government which ensured that the State was continuously improving its rank in education, health and infrastructure. “We could successfully conduct the Miss World competitions in Hyderabad amid tensions between India and Pakistan and trouble in the Middle East.
This shows how safe Hyderabad is,” he said. Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vikist Bharat target of achieving US $30 trillion economy by 2047, coinciding with centenary of India’s independence, he said Telangana government was firm on contributing 10% of US $ 3 trillion. “We have plans to make the State US $1 trillion economy 2034 and US $3 trillion by 2047,” he said. The State had therefore resolved to compete with China and South Korea, fast developing economies, to achieve the targets set.
