Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has strongly defended ethanol-blended fuel amid growing criticism over its impact on vehicles. Gadkari dismissed claims that ethanol damages engines, called the allegations a "paid campaign," and challenged critics to produce evidence of vehicles harmed by E20 fuel. He said ethanol is key to reducing India's crude oil imports, improving energy security, lowering emissions and boosting farmers' incomes, while also outlining the government's roadmap for higher ethanol blends.
