(Source: Reuters) Iran’s military on Thursday said it had launched one-way attack drones targeting US sites in Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain in retaliation for American strikes earlier in the day. The army claimed that “in continuation of the attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s army on US bases in the region" it had struck a Patriot missile interceptor system in Kuwait, fuel tanks in Bahrain and an early warning system in Qatar with “a large number of various types of army kamikaze drones". “The armed forces of Iran will under no circumstances allow the realisation of the goals and ambitions of the insane president of the United States, and will continue to defend the ideals of the Islamic revolution until the final victory," the military said in a statement reported by Iran’s state media.
Iran Targets US Assets In Kuwait, Bahrain Earlier in the day, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it had carried out a joint missile-and-drone operation targeting four US military installations: Camp Arifjan and Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, and Naval Support Activity Bahrain (Juffair) and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. Describing the attacks as the “first phase of the punitive response," the IRGC claimed the strikes had destroyed “infrastructure and important facilities" at the four bases. According to Iranian media, Tehran had earlier in the day launched retaliatory airstrikes targeting the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and an American military base in Kuwait. Fire had broken out at the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain following the strike.
14 Killed In US Strikes In Iran Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Ministry said two days of US strikes on the country had killed 14 people and injured 78 others. The strikes were launched hours after United States President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire with Iran to end the war was “over."
