Police are probing a family dispute as the possible motive behind the killings, while several suspects have reportedly been detained for questioning. The deceased have been identified as Munirathnam Reddy, 50, of Jeevakona, and Manikanta, a resident of Subba Reddy Nagar. The violence broke out at around 9.40 pm outside a marriage hall on Tiruchanur Road, NDTV reported, citing police.
Police Probe Viral Video, CCTV Footage By the time police officers arrived, Munirathnam had already died from his injuries. Manikanta was found alive but in a critical state and was rushed to Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries, according to the report. Authorities are now reviewing surveillance camera recordings and videos captured by people present near the venue. A purported clip of the incident has also circulated widely online. What Led To The Deadly Clash? Initial findings indicate that the violence may have stemmed from a marital dispute involving a man named Sunil, who is from Jangalapalli village in Yerpedu mandal. According to sources quoted in the report, Sunil and his wife had been living apart for several years. On learning that he was attending a wedding at Padmavathi Kalyana Mandapam, his mother-in-law, Sampurnamma, reportedly contacted Munirathnam and Manikanta.
The two men had earlier helped arrange her daughter’s marriage. Munirathnam and Manikanta allegedly approached Sunil at the venue and confronted him over claims that he had abandoned his wife. The exchange soon became heated, with Sunil’s relatives allegedly becoming involved in the argument. Suspects Detained Before Leaving Tirupati Police suspect that Sunil, along with his brother, sister and another relative, attacked the two men with knives before fleeing. The suspects were reportedly tracked down before they could leave Tirupati and taken into custody for questioning. Tirupati East Circle Inspector Srinivasulu said the precise circumstances that led to the killings were still being investigated. However, preliminary information suggested that a family dispute may have been behind the fatal confrontation.
