Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has reclaimed and secured six guntas of land earmarked for the construction of a police station at Kothapet area of the city. The land, spread across Survey Nos.
135 (4 guntas) and 136 (2 guntas), had been allotted to the Chaitanyapuri Police Station. However, the four-gunta government land in Survey No. 135 had been encroached upon, with sheds erected on the site.
Following a request from the Police Department to clear the encroachments and protect the land, HYDRAA officials conducted a field inspection and confirmed the illegal occupation. HYDRAA teams removed the encroachments on Wednesday (July 8, 2026) and fenced the entire si gunta site covering both survey numbers to prevent further encroachment.
Signboards have also been installed identifying the land as earmarked for the police station.
