The Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a CEO forum in Melbourne during a visit to Australia, following an initial stop in Indonesia. Speaking to business leaders, the Prime Minister highlighted the economic relationship between the two nations, noting that exports doubled after the 2022 economic cooperation agreement. The focus is now on achieving a comprehensive economic pact. The Prime Minister outlined opportunities for Australian technology and capital to support these transitions, particularly in green hydrogen and solar modules. Furthermore, the speech addressed the opening of the nuclear sector to private companies, aiming for hundred gigawatt nuclear energy by 2047, and noted the potential for Australian uranium reserves to support this goal. The Prime Minister also proposed specific state-to-state partnerships, linking Australian regions with Indian states across sectors like critical minerals, agriculture, clean energy, and defence.
