Kurnool District Collector A. Siri appealed to all eligible voters to submit their Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms on or before July 14, as the district administration had stepped up efforts to complete the electoral roll revision within the Election Commission’s timeframe. Inspecting the digitisation of enumeration forms at Aspari mandal on Wednesday, the Collector directed booth-level staff to raise their daily processing target from around 70 forms to at least 150.
She directed them to conduct door-to-door surveys from the early hours, digitise collected forms by afternoon and continue field visits in the evening to reach working voters. Later, speaking to the media, the Collector said that with 20.86 lakh electors, Kurnool district has the largest electorate among the districts in Andhra Pradesh.
Around 65% of enumeration forms have already been digitised, while family mapping under the revision exercise has reached nearly 85%, she said. Siri clarified that voters who fail to submit enumeration forms would not immediately lose their franchise. Draft electoral rolls would be published first, followed by notices and a 15-day opportunity to furnish details.
She appealed to residents to submit completed forms, supporting identity documents, and recent passport-size photographs by the July 14 deadline.
