Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana on Wednesday (July 8, 2026) reviewed the progress of Amaravati capital construction works with representatives of contracting agencies, directing them to ensure that all projects are completed within the stipulated timelines despite the ongoing monsoon season. The review meeting, attended by Amaravati Development Corporation Chairperson D.
Lakshmiparthasarathy, Engineer-in-Chief Gopal Krishna Reddy and senior engineers, assessed the progress of government buildings, road networks and Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) layouts. The minister sought project-wise updates from contractors and was briefed on measures taken to prevent rain-related disruptions. Addressing reporters, Mr. Narayana said that the first phase of Amaravati’s development would be completed as scheduled, regardless of political criticism.
He said the government was creating integrated infrastructure to improve public administration and was prioritising underground utility networks to develop Amaravati into a mosquito-free city. He added that the MLA quarters had been completed, while the MLC and AIS Towers would be ready by the end of this month and handed over to the General Administration Department for allotment.
Later, the minister met representatives of the Amaravati Farmers’ Joint Action Committee to discuss issues affecting capital region villages. Farmers raised concerns over village settlement issues, plot registrations, waste disposal, traffic management and road connectivity.
