A scuffle broke out in Kolkata between Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party workers during a political rally from Ballygunge Phari to Hazra crossing. Workers from both political parties engaged in a war of words, raised slogans, and got into a physical altercation.
The police and central forces intervened to separate the clashing groups and bring the situation under control. The opposition party members allegedly hurled eggs and protested against the ruling party, while leaders from the ruling party complained of being heckled and attacked during the event.
