For businesses, setting up operations often involves navigating a maze of approvals, licences and clearances across multiple government departments. From labour and fire safety permissions to pollution control and power-related approvals, the process can be time-consuming and require engagement with several agencies. To address this challenge, the Uttar Pradesh government introduced Nivesh Mitra, a single-window digital platform designed to bring a wide range of regulatory services onto one portal.
Read Full Story Managed by Invest UP, Nivesh Mitra allows entrepreneurs, MSMEs, startups and large industries to apply for statutory approvals through a Common Application Form (CAF). Businesses can submit applications online, make payments, track the status of requests in real time and download approvals digitally, reducing the need to approach multiple departments separately. The platform integrates services from more than 40 government departments, including Labour, Fire Services, Pollution Control Board, Electrical Safety, Food Safety, Urban Development, Revenue and Power.
By consolidating these services on a single portal, Nivesh Mitra aims to make the approval process more streamlined and transparent. The latest version, Nivesh Mitra 3.0, includes features such as AI-enabled investor assistance, GIS-based land bank integration, enhanced grievance redressal mechanisms and integration with the Single Window System. The upgraded platform is also designed to simplify application procedures and reduce compliance-related complexities for businesses. As Uttar Pradesh continues to attract investments across sectors, digital platforms such as Nivesh Mitra are becoming an important part of the state's industrial ecosystem.
By enabling online approvals, real-time tracking and inter-departmental coordination, the platform seeks to make regulatory processes more accessible for businesses looking to establish or expand operations in the state. Ends
