A day after a debris slip near the tunnel project site at Kalladi in Wayanad claimed three lives, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday spoke to Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan and extended all support from the Centre for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts of the State government.
Wayanad debris slip Live updates A statement issued by the office of the Chief Minister said the Union Minister held a telephonic conversation with the Chief Minister and took stock of the situation, promising all necessary assistance from the Central government.
Shah expressed appreciation for the measures taken by the State government so far. The Home Minister also urged the Chief Minister to launch a high-level probe
into the tragedy. In response, the Chief Minister briefed him that the State Cabinet, which met on Wednesday, has already approved a high-level inquiry, said the statement.
