Reviewing the department’s work at the Vidhan Bhavan, Agarwal said the government’s objective is to make every youth skilled and create better opportunities for employment and self-employment. He directed officials to ensure the timely, transparent and quality implementation of all departmental schemes. The minister instructed officials to regularly review all schemes at the district and headquarters levels and closely monitor the performance of every Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and Skill Development Centre. “No compromise of any kind with the quality of training will be accepted, and every officer should discharge their responsibilities with complete accountability and sensitivity.
Any negligence in the effective implementation of skill development schemes will not be tolerated," he said. Agarwal said more short-term, employment-oriented courses should be introduced to meet evolving industry requirements. He also stressed the need to incorporate soft skills, digital learning, communication skills, interview preparation, resume writing and personality development into training programmes to improve the employability of trainees. “The intention of the Yogi Government is not only to provide training but also to connect youth with employment after training. Therefore, the department should establish strong coordination with industries, and training programmes should be conducted in accordance with the requirements of local industries," the minister said. He also directed officials to ensure wider publicity for employment fairs being organised at ITIs and Skill Development Centres so that more eligible candidates can benefit. During the meeting, officials reviewed skill development programmes being run in Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas and informed the minister that students are receiving modern skill-based training. They also said similar skilling courses will be introduced in Ashram Paddhati Schools from next month to help students from socially and economically weaker sections acquire technical skills.
