As repair work continued on the damaged Delhi-Jaipur highway (NH-48), commuters faced fresh congestion on Wednesday morning. A nearly one-kilometre-long traffic jam was reported near Behrampur after one carriageway remained affected due to repairs following the cave-in near Narsinghpur. “We strongly urge the corporate sector and private establishments to encourage Work from Home (WFH) arrangements for their employees for the next few days," the advisory mentioned. “Minimising non-essential vehicular movement will greatly assist our traffic management teams in maintaining traffic flow and ensuring emergency services remain unobstructed. We appreciate your cooperation in prioritising the safety and well-being of our citizens," it stated. NH-48 CAVES IN, TRAFFIC HIT The main carriageway on the Delhi-Jaipur highway (NH-48) caved in near Narsinghpur on Tuesday evening following heavy rainfall, forcing authorities to begin urgent repair work. The damage affected traffic movement on the crucial arterial road, with visuals on Wednesday showing slow-moving vehicles and long queues as repair work continued. According to PTI, the cave-in forced the closure of two lanes, triggering massive traffic congestion between Hero Honda Chowk and the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza. Gurugram Police issued a traffic advisory and diverted vehicles travelling from Delhi towards Jaipur. Apart from the NH-48 collapse, another road cave-in was reported on Civil Line Road, where the tyres of two parked vehicles got badly stuck after a recently excavated stretch gave way following the heavy rain.
