'US Left With Only Nuclear Option': Tehran's Deputy Mayor's Hits Back At Trump's Latest Warning Published By, Last Updated: July 07, 2026, 22:56 IST Tehran's Deputy Mayor Hamidreza Gholamzadeh asserted the United States has run out of conventional military options against Iran and is only left with nuclear bombing. Rapid Read US President Donald Trump issued another warning to Iran. Tehran’s Deputy Mayor Hamidreza Gholamzadeh asserted the United States has run out of conventional military options against Iran and is only left with a nuclear option. His response came in response to US President Donald Trump’s recent warning to “finish the job" in Iran. Gholamzadeh, who leads Tehran’s PR and International Relations Centre, asserted that Iran would continue to fight against its enemies even if it is attacked again.
“Now the only option Americans can use against us is nuclear bombing. They can’t do anything beyond this. We will still fight," he told India Today. He also alleged that the US and Israel had considered disrupting slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s funeral, but backed down after witnessing the scale of public participation and the presence of international guests. Gholamzadeh said there had been no progress so far in the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington. “The negotiations are not moving forward. We know it, and the US also knows it," he added. Trump’s Latest Warning To Iran This came after Trump issued another warning to Tehran during an appearance at the White House, saying the United States was prepared to use military force if diplomacy failed.
“We’re either going to make a deal or we’re going to finish the job. It won’t be tough to finish the job," he said, while maintaining that Washington was close to making a deal to end the war. Trump said the US had the capability to strike Iran’s critical infrastructure if peace efforts collapsed. Iran’s Supreme Security Council Secretary Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr hit back at Trump’s remarks, telling him to address the Iranian people “with respect" or face a response in “another language". “I say to the delusional president of the United States, who today threatened 91 million Iranians: Speak to the Iranian people with respect, or we will respond to you in another language," Zolghadr said.
