The Amaravati Growth and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (AGICL) has floated a competitive tender valued at over ₹14 crore for the construction of the official residence of the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court near Nelapadu in Amaravati under a design-build lump-sum contract. The project, which is to be completed within six months, includes a two-year Defect Liability Period (DLP) during which the successful contractor will be responsible for rectifying defects and ensuring quality standards. According to the bid document, the project aims to develop a fully integrated judicial residence with architectural finishes, internal and external electrical systems, plumbing and sanitary works, fire-fighting facilities, lifts, diesel generator, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), security systems, external development and landscaping.
The objective is to deliver a ready-to-use, high-quality residential facility through a single-point design-build execution model. The document states that the project may be financed through HUDCO, the State government or other approved funding sources, with the selected contractor expected to execute the work strictly in accordance with the contract conditions and applicable environmental and social safeguards. Bidders must submit environmental and social management plans, adopt safety, health, and labour protection measures, and comply with anti-corruption provisions. Contractors are also required to undertake independent site due diligence before bidding and cannot raise subsequent claims regarding site conditions after award of the contract.
Only Special Class Civil contractors registered with the Andhra Pradesh government are eligible to participate. The tender mandates a 1 per cent bid security of ₹14 lakh, while the successful bidder must furnish a 2.5 per cent performance security valid until 60 days after the DLP. Submission of false documents, forged certificates or failure to provide original records can result in blacklisting, forfeiture of security deposits and criminal prosecution. Subcontracting, if permitted by the employer, cannot exceed 50 per cent of the contract value.
The pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for July 8, 2026, while bids will close on July 20, with technical and financial bids to be opened subsequently through the Andhra Pradesh e-Procurement platform.
