In the Palghar district neighbouring Mumbai, heavy monsoon rains have caused severe flooding and waterlogging in the Vasai-Virar region, particularly on the Vasai Nalasopara Link Road and Evershine City. Residents are wading through hip-deep water to reach railway stations. Tractors have been deployed to transport people across flooded streets, with operators charging one hundred rupees per commuter.
Some residents have modified their motorbikes to navigate the water. Locals report that six days of relentless rainfall have kept them awake at night and flooded their homes. Despite administrative warnings to stay indoors, individuals are forced to step out for medical emergencies and field work. The waterlogging has persisted for four days, affecting both major roads and railway tracks.
