A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Tamil Nadu government and Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited on Tuesday (July 7, 2026) in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat in Chennai for the expansion of Hitachi’s facility at Porur and Hitachi Energy India Limited’s facility at Chengalpattu.
According to an official release, the two projects will involve an investment of ₹1,000 crore and create 1,000 high-skilled technology jobs. The expansion projects will be implemented over the next three to five years.
