Ketan Agarwal Case: No Knife, No Blood, No Trace — How 12th Fail Siya-Chetan 'Perfected' Murder Plan Published By, Last Updated: July 07, 2026, 10:23 IST Raja Raghuvanshi's mother Uma calls Pune accused Siya Goyal a 'mini Sonam,' citing similar body language and an apparent lack of remorse in both murder cases. Siya and Chetan spent six to seven months studying major murder cases reported across India online. The Ketan Agarwal murder case at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala is throwing up fresh, shocking revelations every day. Main accused Siya Goyal — Ketan’s fiancée — and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary are undergoing intense interrogation, after what initially looked like an accident turned out to be a meticulously planned murder. Class 12-failed Siya and her lover allegedly plotted and executed the killing so cleverly that even investigating officers were left stunned by the precision of the plan. The accused had planned the crime so cleverly that it initially appeared to be a mere accident, with no physical evidence left at the spot. This posed a major challenge for investigators, forcing Pune Police to lean heavily on technical investigation — scanning mobile data, deleted messages, location history and internet search records round the clock before finally landing on concrete leads.
How Was The ‘Perfect Murder’ Allegedly Plotted? According to police, Siya and Chetan spent six to seven months studying major murder cases reported across India online, allegedly searching for methods that would leave no forensic trail and arouse no suspicion. Knowing that using a knife or weapon would leave bloodstains and forensic evidence behind, they instead allegedly chose to push Ketan off Lohagad Fort and stage it as an accident. Did Siya Goyal Take Cues From The Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case? This is where the case takes a striking turn. Investigators found uncanny similarities between this case and the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, who was killed on his honeymoon in Meghalaya and allegedly pushed off a cliff on the orders of his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi. A report by NDTV quoted police as saying that browsing history retrieved from Siya’s phone showed she had allegedly researched details of the Raghuvanshi case, and had also searched whether women are beaten in police custody and about the rights of female prisoners. What Does The Investigation Reveal About Siya’s Mindset?
An officer connected with the investigation told NDTV that the crime stemmed from “desperation," shaped by personal relations, her thought process, and the transactional pressures between the two families. “There was intention to commit crime, and they went through with it, plotting alibis to escape detection, trial and hopefully conviction," the officer said, adding that neither accused has shown remorse so far. Did Siya Improve On Sonam Raghuvanshi’s Alleged Mistakes? Police believe Siya may have learnt from Sonam’s mistakes, building sharper alibis — including allegedly ensuring Chetan physically joined her in pushing Ketan, since she alone may not have had the strength to make sure he fell into the gorge. What Has Raja Raghuvanshi’s Mother Said About The Parallels? Raja Raghuvanshi’s mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, has drawn a direct parallel between the two cases, calling Siya Goyal a “mini Sonam" and pointing to similar body language and an apparent lack of remorse. She also flagged concerns that Sonam Raghuvanshi’s bail in the ongoing Shillong trial could embolden other accused persons in similar crimes. What’s Next In The Investigation? A second phone seized from the Goyal residence has been sent for forensic examination, which police hope will reveal further details of the planning.
