According to News18 Marathi, police scrutinised call records, location data, chats and internet search history retrieved from the accused’s phones. While examining digital data spanning the past six to seven months, investigators reportedly found that Siya and Chetan had allegedly married four months earlier, keeping it hidden out of fear of their families.

Police said the first attempt to kill Ketan Agarwal was allegedly made on June 14 itself, but Siya reportedly lost her nerve at the last moment and the attempt failed. Following this, she allegedly messaged Chetan saying, “I don’t have the courage to do it, you come too — together we’ll push him off the cliff." Investigators say the two allegedly went on to carry out the murder together on June 18.
