The SIT probing the Ram Mandir donation theft case has said its initial findings do not indicate the involvement of any trust member in the alleged theft. However, the report has held the trust responsible for failing to enforce its own SOPs on supervision, frisking, access to the counting room, and monitoring of guidelines.
The SIT also found that the alleged theft had been occurring even before April 27, 2026, but could not determine the full extent due to the absence of older CCTV footage. Around 70 suspicious incidents were flagged, and the counting room in charge, Sushabh Srivastava, has been held responsible for supervisory lapses.
