Indore's 100-Bed Civil Hospital Exists Only On Paper As Staff Appointed Without Land Allotment
A proposed 100-bed civil hospital in Indore's Khajrana is under scrutiny for existing only on paper despite being marked as functional on Madhya Pradesh government
A proposed 100-bed civil hospital in Indore's Khajrana is under scrutiny for existing only on paper despite being marked as functional on Madhya Pradesh government records. Approved in June 2020, the hospital building remains unconstructed due to delays in land allotment. However, the state government sanctioned 87 posts for the facility, with appointments and transfer orders continuing for years, including fresh postings as recently as June 2026.
While the opposition has criticized the situation as an administrative failure and demanded a high-level investigation, the government maintains that construction was delayed because land is unavailable, and that the sanctioned workforce has been deployed elsewhere.
