A back and forth between him and the Buckingham Palace reveals how testy their relationship still is. Rapid Read Prince Harry has been denied stay at his family home, the Buckingham Palace. (Source: X/ @TMZ) Prince Harry and the British Royalty were just getting along well with each other, it seemed. And just then, a back and forth between two sides which ultimately led to the Prince having to make his own arrangements for stay when he returns to his homeland has shown how testy this relationship still is. It all started when the British Royalty offered Prince Harry a stay at the Buckingham Palace.
They offered a stay for him but no security for him and his family. Then, he declined. Soon, he said he will come and stay alone and then the Royalty declined. The Chronology Prince Harry has a series of charity engagements, including promoting the Invictus Games, according to a report by The Guardian. For these, he will be visiting London. On Monday, 9AM, a spokesperson for the Prince said that he had accepted the offer of staying at the Buckingham Palace during his trip, BBC reported. However, just in 15 minutes, the Palace contradicted that statement. Harry’s spokesperson said that Buckingham Palace’s offer was rescinded “at the last moment". An ongoing case with the Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Daily Mail was cited as the reason for this withdrawal. The spokesperson further said that this was “disappointing".
Before this back and forth, the Prince had apparently refused to stay at the Palace, PA Media reported, with his family. The reason for this was believed to be the British government’s refusal to provide them full police protection. He later announced that he will stay at the Palace just by himself and his family would not accompany him for the trip. His spokesperson had clarified that they could join later. However, by that time, the Buckingham Palace said, appropriate hospitality and staffing provision could not possibly be arranged. They also cited the longstanding legal case complicating the King’s constitutional position. Harry’s Reaction The Prince, who is also the Duke of Sussex, “spent the last week making alternative security arrangements", said Harry’s spokesperson. It was for this reason that he accepted the offer to stay at the family Palace later.
