Following allegations of donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai
Following allegations of donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra on moral grounds to facilitate the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe. Indian Forest Service officer Krishna Mohan has assumed the role of interim general secretary. Trust Treasurer Govind Giri acknowledged management negligence, and the incident sparked political debate.
Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ghanshyam Tiwari criticized the government's trustee selection process, while BJP's Guru Prakash Paswan defended the government's actions, including the SIT formation and arrests. Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Alok Kumar called for fast-track prosecution of the suspects. Ground reports from Ayodhya indicate that while devotees condemn the financial irregularities and demand accountability, temple operations and faith remain unaffected.
The ongoing investigation highlights discussions regarding the management, transparency, and security of religious donations and temple assets.
