The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Monday (July 6, 2026) launched ‘save Chandragiri’ campaign seeking arrest of TDP MLA Pulivarthi Venkata Mani Prasad (Nani). The campaign follows a viral audio clip in which the TDP MLA reportedly made lewd remarks against a retired judge and warned him of serious consequences.
The issue pertains to a land deal in his constituency, in which the YSRCP alleged that the MLA was hand in glove with a Cabinet Minister trying to usurp a valuable property belonging to a senior citizen. After the clip went viral, YSRCP leaders filed complaints in seven police stations within the Chandragiri constituency, seeking his arrest.
YSRCP constituency in-charge Chevireddy Mohith Reddy and his younger brother, Chevireddy Harshith Reddy, who represents the YSR Students Union, took out a rally to the office of the Superintendent of Police demanding action on Monday. However, the police thwarted their attempt to enter the office and shifted them to the Tirupati West police station in a bus.
Mohith Reddy stated that during the two-year rule of the MLA under the NDA government, the constituency experienced a significant rise in corruption.
