Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh on Monday (July 6, 2026) exuded confidence that the final voter list following the Special Intensive Revision would be inclusive and error-free, a day after the poll panel published the draft rolls leaving out 1,58,677 names. The draft rolls were published on Sunday (July 5) following the completion of the enumeration phase of the exercise, retaining 19.34 lakh voters.
Those who were not included in the draft rolls can file claims and objections from July 5 to August 4. The final electoral roll will be published on September 6. After attending a workshop on Special Intensive Review (SIR) Phase II at the BJP State office, the Chief Minister said he was confident that the exercise would be inclusive and the final voter list would be error-free.
State BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP A. Sharda Devi, Home Minister K. Govindas Singh, former MP Vinod Sonkar, MLAs, and senior BJP leaders also attended the workshop. In a social media post, Mr. Singh said, "The workshop focused on the draft electoral roll published by the Election Commission of India following the successful completion of the enumeration phase of the SIR, during which over 19.34 lakh enumeration forms were collected." "I am confident that the final electoral roll will be accurate and inclusive.
The Government of Manipur remains committed to supporting the conduct of free, fair, transparent, and credible elections." Mr. Singh added.
