In a shocking display of recklessness, a group of bikers allegedly performed dangerous wheelies in front of a speeding ambulance carrying a critically ill patient, delaying its movement and putting a life at risk, in Bengaluru. The incident reportedly occurred around 2 a.m. on June 4 on the road connecting Yeshwanthpur and Goraguntepalya.
The ambulance, with its siren blaring, was rushing the patient to a hospital when the bikers allegedly overtook the vehicle, performing wheelies instead of giving way. According to witnesses, the riders were not wearing helmets and number plates were not visible in the two-wheelers. They continued their stunts in front of the ambulance, obstructing its path despite the emergency vehicle’s siren.
Family members accompanying the patient recorded the incident on their mobile phones. The video has since gone viral on social media, triggering widespread public outrage. Citizens have condemned the bikers’ actions, calling for strict legal action against those responsible. Many have demanded that police identify the riders using the viral video, and register criminal cases, arguing that such behaviour goes beyond a traffic violation and amounts to endangering human life.
Under traffic rules, motorists are required to give way to ambulances. The traffic police, taking cognizance, examined the viral footage.
