BJP State unit president Nainar Nagenthran on Monday (July 6, 2026) criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay over various crimes reported across the State, contending that the law-and-order situation in Tamil Nadu was deteriorating. He accused the Chief Minister of “giving excuses.” Condemning the alleged abduction of a Congress functionary in Coimbatore district and an attempt to murder a girl in Virudhunagar district, Mr. Nagenthran criticised the TVK-led government for being “a mute spectator” to these incidents.
“The fact that Mr. Vijay is struggling to provide safety in public spaces even to functionaries of its alliance partners that are part of the TVK-led government, only
exposes his administrative failure,” Mr. Nagenthran charged. The people who voted for change are now fearing for their lives, he alleged. Nagenthran further said that the Chief Minister
should focus on maintaining law and order in the State and urged him to initiate action against offenders without compromise to ensure the safety of the general public.
