Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai and adjoining areas, severely disrupting normal life and public transport. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai and its nearby region. The inclement weather and resulting waterlogging have significantly impacted aviation services at the Mumbai Airport, where at least 17 flights were cancelled and 217 flights were delayed between 12:00 PM and 11:13 PM on 6th July.
The airport authorities are working to convey details regarding the disruptions to passengers. Road and rail transport in the city have also been affected due to the continuous heavy downpour.
