Haryana Murder: Image used for representation Days after the Siya Goyal case shocked the country, another alleged love-triangle murder has come to light, this time from Haryana’s Gurugram, where a man and his girlfriend conspired to kill his wife just three months after her wedding. The accused, identified as Ankit, 25, and his alleged partner Rajni Devi, 38, have been arrested after allegedly fleeing to Nepal following the crime. Investigators claim the murder was the result of a pre-planned conspiracy aimed at removing the woman from their lives so the couple could continue their relationship, as per media reports.
Investigation Began After Woman Suddenly Disappeared The case surfaced after the victim’s mother approached Manesar Police Station on May 22, claiming that her daughter had gone missing a day earlier. The woman had married Ankit in February. According to the complaint, repeated attempts by the family to trace her or get clear answers from her in-laws were unsuccessful, raising suspicion. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. During the search, officers recovered the woman’s body from a room in Manesar. Preliminary findings indicated that she had died from a gunshot injury, after which investigators invoked murder charges. Police Suspect Affair Led To Murder Plot According to investigators cited by media outlets, Ankit and Rajni had known each other for nearly three years before the murder. Police allege the two decided to kill the victim to continue their relationship without opposition. The conspiracy was hatched at Rajni’s rented accommodation, where the murder was later carried out.
On the day of the incident, police allege Ankit brought his wife to the room, where she was shot dead. Gun Allegedly Bought Months Before The Killing The investigation further revealed that the firearm allegedly used in the crime had been purchased from Uttar Pradesh nearly two months earlier. Police suspect the weapon was procured specifically for carrying out the murder and are continuing efforts to recover it. Accused Allegedly Crossed Into Nepal Following the incident, the accused allegedly travelled to Haridwar before crossing into Nepal in an attempt to evade arrest. According to police, they remained there until June 30, when they returned to India. The Crime Branch later tracked them down and arrested both accused in Manesar. They have since been produced before a court, which granted five days’ police custody. Investigators said further questioning is underway to recover the murder weapon and collect additional evidence.
