Nripendra Mishra To Join Ram Temple Trust Meeting Virtually Amid Growing Discontent Among Sadhus Reported By, Edited By Last Updated: July 06, 2026, 12:22 IST Sources say the decision comes amid growing anger among sections of sadhus and saints towards Mishra, who currently heads the Ram Temple Construction Committee. Rapid Read Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Ram Mandir construction committee. (ANI) The crucial meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya on Monday will see Ram Temple Construction Committee chairman Nripendra Mishra attending virtually instead of in person, after a last-minute change in plans, sources said. His participation through video conferencing comes at a time when the Trust is under intense scrutiny over the alleged donation embezzlement case and internal differences within the organisation. According to sources, Mishra was initially expected to be physically present for the meeting but decided to join through a webcam at the eleventh hour.
While no official reason has been cited for the change, sources indicated that the decision comes against the backdrop of growing anger and resentment among sections of sadhus and saints towards the former bureaucrat, who currently heads the Ram Temple Construction Committee. The development adds another layer of significance to what is already being viewed as one of the Trust’s most important meetings since the consecration of the Ram Temple. The gathering has been convened amid the ongoing investigation into the alleged misappropriation of temple donations and is expected to deliberate on the resignations of general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. The Trust is also likely to discuss administrative reforms, including the possibility of creating the post of a Chief Executive Officer to strengthen governance. Mishra, a former principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has overseen the execution of the Ram Temple construction project since the Trust constituted the construction committee following the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya dispute.
His name has also figured in discussions over a possible CEO role should the Trust decide to restructure its administrative framework. The meeting itself has attracted heightened attention due to the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into alleged irregularities in temple donations. It was advanced from its earlier scheduled date amid mounting pressure following the controversy. Besides considering the resignations of key office-bearers, trustees are expected to review the status of the investigation and discuss measures aimed at restoring public confidence in the Trust’s functioning. With several senior members either absent due to health reasons or vacancies in the Trust, every participant assumes added importance. Against this backdrop, Mishra’s decision to join remotely instead of travelling to Ayodhya has drawn attention, especially as it coincides with reported dissatisfaction among a section of the religious leadership over his role and functioning, according to sources.
