Visuals from the spot showed the massive hoarding lying across the middle of Pokhran Road No. 2, blocking vehicular movement and leading to traffic congestion in the area. There was no immediate information about any injuries or casualties in the incident.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Palghar, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, extremely heavy rain at isolated places and gusty winds. Meanwhile, torrential rainfall wreaked havoc across Maharashtra’s Thane and Palghar districts on Sunday, leaving a 17-year-old boy dead by drowning and a man killed in a balcony collapse. Two women were also injured in separate rain-related incidents, officials said. In Navi Mumbai’s Vashi Sector 11, a concrete slab from the second-floor balcony of the Ram Niwas Building collapsed, hitting three people.
Rajesh Shetty (35) later succumbed to his injuries, while the two injured women are undergoing treatment in hospital. Emergency teams and civic officials rushed to the spot to clear the debris and secure the area. In another incident, a 17-year-old boy drowned in the swollen Kamvari River in Bhiwandi. According to officials, the teenager, a resident of Gaibi Nagar, had gone to the riverbank with friends to catch crabs when he was swept away by strong currents. A search operation is underway to trace his body. Meanwhile, in Thane’s Diva area, five people trapped inside a two-storey building were rescued after a concrete staircase slab collapsed, blocking the main exit, officials said.
