Luxury Resort Near Jim Corbett Sealed After Police Uncover Sex Racket; 52 Arrested Published By, Last Updated: July 06, 2026, 09:59 IST Police raided a luxury resort in Ramnagar near Jim Corbett Park after receiving inputs about an alleged sex racket. The operation led to 52 arrests. Jim Corbett Sex Racket: 52 people have been arrested A luxury resort near Jim Corbett Park has come under the scanner after police uncovered an alleged sex racket during a raid in Uttarakhand’s Ramnagar. The joint operation resulted in the arrest of 52 people, while 10 women, including a minor, were rescued from the resort. Following the raid, authorities sealed the property and launched a detailed investigation into the alleged prostitution racket. Police Acted On Intelligence Inputs The raid was conducted jointly by the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Ramnagar Police after officials received information about suspected illegal activities inside the resort.
When officers entered the premises, they allegedly found a private party in progress. Police claimed women were performing obscene dances while guests threw cash at them. Several items considered important to the investigation were recovered during the search. Businessman Allegedly Organised The Event During the investigation, police identified Umendra Kumar, a businessman from Meerut, as the alleged organiser of the event. According to investigators, Kumar had booked the resort for July 4 and July 5 by paying around Rs 2.20 lakh. Police alleged the gathering was organised for people connected to his pesticide manufacturing business. Investigators further claimed that women participating in the event were allegedly promised around ₹10,000 each. Resort Staff Also Under Investigation The investigation has now expanded beyond the organisers. Police suspect an attempt was made to hide the identities of people attending the event. Investigators alleged that the resort’s general manager instructed employees not to record the names of guests or the women in the visitor register.
Officials treated the alleged omission as an effort to conceal evidence, following which the resort was sealed pending further investigation. Case Filed The accused have been booked under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Juvenile Justice Act, and the Excise Act. The presence of a minor among those rescued has added to the seriousness of the case and widened the scope of the investigation. The alleged Jim Corbett sex racket has once again put the spotlight on tourist properties operating in and around Ramnagar, the gateway to the famous national park. Investigators are now examining whether the resort was an isolated case or part of a larger network.
