Minister of Finance Payyavula Keshav expressed serious displeasure over the alleged neglect in the operation of the intake well of the Sri Rami Reddy Project, from which drinking water is supplied to Uravakonda. During a surprise inspection of the intake well on Sunday evening (July 5, 2026), the Minister found the motors switched off and the officials and workers absent from the site.
He condemned the negligence regarding the water supply to Uravakonda, despite the availability of water in the dam. Keshav spoke to District Collector O. Anand over the phone and expressed strong displeasure over the negligent attitude of the operation and maintenance officials.
He directed him to take appropriate action against the concerned officials. He made it clear that such laxity concerning the drinking water supply would not
be tolerated and that those responsible should face appropriate consequences.
