The Three Lions got their first taste of the local conditions on Saturday afternoon during a training session at Pumas’ ‘Quarry’ training base, before Thomas Tuchel and Henderson addressed the media at Azteca Stadium.

Asked about his first impressions of the conditions, Henderson said: “You can feel it a little bit. You can feel something. You felt it a little bit even when you just landed and came into the hotel and even walking around, you could feel something." Azteca Stadium sits around 2,400 metres above sea level. After extensive planning and research, England’s officials chose to fly into Toluca on Friday evening, giving the team two nights to acclimatise before the game.
