India’s Emergency Medical Support The Indian Army field hospital has been set up at the International La Rinconada Racetrack in Caracas as part of India’s relief mission following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela last month. The disaster killed more than 1,700 people and caused widespread destruction across several regions.
The facility is providing emergency care, surgeries, and trauma support to injured survivors. Indian medical teams are working alongside local authorities to treat patients and assist in ongoing relief efforts. According to the Indian Embassy in Caracas, the mission — named Operacion Amistad — includes airlifted medical supplies, mobile hospital units, and specialist personnel deployed to support emergency healthcare needs on the ground. The earthquake, which measured 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, was among the strongest to hit Venezuela in over a century and was felt across neighbouring regions.
