One of the speculation is that his son will likely be made the Deputy CM. Siddaramaiah is likely to step down on May 28 and may subsequently be moved to the Rajya Sabha as part of a broader political balancing exercise within the party.

Hence, important and potentially lucrative portfolios could go to leaders aligned with Siddaramaiah, ensuring his continued influence in the government. As per multiple reports, a possible cabinet position for Siddaramaiah’s son, Yathindra, a member of the state legislative council, has been assured. Earlier in the day, supporters of Deputy CM DK Shivakumar celebrated in Ramanagara, considered Shivakumar’s political stronghold in Bengaluru South district, amid growing speculation that he could soon become the next Chief Minister of Karnataka.
