The political controversy surrounding the alleged Ram Mandir donation theft case continues to intensify as Communist Party of India (Marxist) Member of Parliament John Brittas writes to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The parliamentarian is urging the central government to reconsider its stance and bring the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust under the Right to Information Act. While the Central Information Commission previously ruled that the trust is an autonomous body and not a public authority, the opposition argues that government involvement in its formation warrants public accountability.
Simultaneously, the Special Investigation Team probe is gathering pace, with police preparing to interrogate five accused individuals. The trust is scheduled to hold a crucial meeting in Ayodhya to deliberate on the investigation findings, assess potential administrative loopholes, and decide on the anticipated resignations of key members Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. Meanwhile, opposition parties continue to target the government over the alleged financial irregularities, while the ruling party maintains that the ongoing investigation will ensure full accountability.
