Several states are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds may affect many regions.Mumbai and adjoining districts remain among the most vulnerable areas, with the IMD maintaining a red alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. The latest forecast also points to widespread monsoon activity over northern, eastern, northeastern and southern India through the coming days.According to the IMD, extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa and central Maharashtra.
