Millions gathered in Tehran to attend the funeral of Iran's former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, four months after his assassination. Mourners openly wept as his coffin was displayed publicly for the first time since his death.
Alongside his casket were the coffins of family members who were killed in the joint US-Israeli airstrikes on the compound on February 28. Anti-US chants echoed through the gathering, and banners reading "Kill Trump" were seen.
In one of the striking visuals, a woman waved the Iranian flag while pressing an Israeli flag to the ground. Reports also said Iranian authorities had prepared thousands of graves as a contingency measure ahead of the funeral.
