The United States Department of Justice has moved to permanently dismiss the criminal case against the Adani Group and other defendants. In a filing submitted to a federal court, the department argued that the prosecution was legally flawed and diplomatically harmful, asserting that the case should never have been brought.
The department stated that developments were centred in India, where local authorities found no misconduct. It also noted that investors suffered no financial losses and argued that the United States should not act as world police. This request follows a directive from a federal judge seeking a detailed explanation for the dismissal.
