Continuous heavy rainfall has brought Mumbai to a crawl, disrupting road traffic and slowing suburban rail services. Nonstop rain pushed the city's drainage system to its limit, waterlogging key locations including the Andheri subway, King Circle, Borivali, Vile Parle, Bandra, and areas near the Worli Sea Link. In response to the weather conditions, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation declared a holiday for the afternoon session in all schools and colleges.
Additionally, the India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for Mumbai and its adjoining areas. Civic teams have been deployed to clear clogged drains and manage emergencies as the financial capital braces for more rain.
