It was an emotional homecoming for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as he returned to Midjil to mark 20 years of his entry into public life, reconnecting with friends, political associates and voters whose support in the 2006 ZPTC election laid the foundation for his rise to the State’s highest political office. The thanksgiving meeting turned into a reunion as Mr. Revanth Reddy spent time with several of his former campaign colleagues, many of whom had worked with him when he contested as an independent candidate and was virtually unknown outside the region.
The Chief Minister fondly recalled the collective effort that culminated in his maiden electoral victory, describing it as the defining moment of his political career. Old associates responded with equal warmth, reminiscing about the hard-fought campaign and the challenges they overcame together two decades ago. Many were visibly delighted to see their one-time colleague from a modest rural background rise to become the Chief Minister. The reunion was marked by affectionate conversations, shared memories and photographs. Earlier in the day, Mr. Revanth Reddy offered prayers at the Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Urukondapeta.
He also laid the foundation stone for a slew of development works worth ₹47.08 crore in Midjil mandal with projects spanning temple infrastructure, rural development and irrigation. Revanth Reddy launched ₹10 crore worth of development works at the Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple apart from foundation stone for ₹20 crore worth of development works covering 40 gram panchayats of the erstwhile Midjil
mandal. Projects worth ₹17.08 crore for the construction and restoration of check dams in the mandal including a ₹8.74 crore check dam across the Dhundhubi Vagu near Bhairampalli village, a ₹5.92 crore check dam over a tributary of the Dhundhubi Vagu near Vadiyal village and the restoration of the Vaspul Katwa near Vaspul village at a cost of ₹2.43 crore were launched.
