The Cyberabad Police on Saturday (July 4, 2026) destroyed 833.118 kg of seized narcotic substances worth ₹5.02 crore through incineration as part of the eighth phase of its drug disposal programme, disposing of contraband linked to 101 cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The destruction was carried out by the Drug Disposal Committee at GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt. Ltd. in Edulapalle village of Nandigama mandal, Ranga Reddy district, in accordance with environmental pollution control norms. According to the police, the destroyed narcotics had a combined estimated value of ₹5,02,51,870. The disposed
contraband included 797.841 kg of ganja valued at ₹3,98,92,050, 912.2 grams of ganja plants worth ₹10,000, 24.640 kg of ganja chocolates worth ₹2,46,400, 0.005 grams of MDMA valued at ₹50,000, 1.658 kg of hashish oil worth ₹20,72,500, 7.970 kg of alprazolam valued at ₹79,70,000, and 92 grams of
charas worth ₹920. The exercise forms part of Cyberabad Police’s periodic disposal of narcotic substances seized in NDPS cases after completion of the required legal formalities, with officials stating that the initiative is aimed at preventing the recirculation or misuse of seized drugs while strengthening enforcement against drug trafficking.
