The project costs Rs 480 crore and is architecturally inspired by Rajasthan’s royal heritage. The terminal features arches, domes and jharokhas with contemporary design. The facility has been designed to handle up to 20 lakh passengers every year, as per the Prime Minister’s Office. The terminal also includes features such as energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures, and green building practices aimed at achieving a 5-Star GRIHA rating. The airport currently handles over 10 lakh passengers a year, with traffic having doubled over the past 12 years. PM Modi on Friday said the upgraded infrastructure will boost trade and tourism in the region. “Tomorrow, 4th July, is a very special day for the people of Jodhpur. PM Modi Launches Modified UDAN Scheme Prime Minister Modi also launched the modified UDAN scheme in Jodhpur, aimed at strengthening regional air connectivity across the country over the next decade. With an allocation of Rs 28,840 crore over the next 10 years, the scheme focuses on multiple strategic components designed to ensure comprehensive and sustainable connectivity. The scheme aims to develop 100 aerodromes from existing unserved strips to expand aviation infrastructure across the country. Over Rs 2,500 crore has been earmarked for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support to ensure the viability of regional airports.
