Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the ₹200-crore greenfield chicken-processing unit of ABIS Proteins and the APIIC MSME Park at Pogurupalle village in Gudupalle mandal of the Kuppam assembly constituency on Friday (July 3, 2026). Naidu, who arrived here on a three-day tour, was accorded a warm welcome by public representatives, officials and residents. Speaking at the programme, Mr. Naidu asserted that the chicken processing unit would remarkably benefit local poultry farmers and create extensive indirect employment through allied activities. “The firm is a major addition to Andhra Pradesh’s food processing sector,” the Chief Minister added. The officials informed the Chief Minister that the ABIS Proteins facility, spread over 30.75 acres, is one of the country’s largest chicken processing units and is expected to commence commercial production in July itself.
Company representatives said that the project, developed with modern technology, would generate around 1,400 direct and indirect jobs and create a stable market for poultry farmers. The Chief Minister also presented the appointment letters to candidates selected through the company’s job fair recently. The Chief Minister also launched the APIIC MSME Park, developed over 44.58 acres with 167 industrial plots, and directed officials to begin allotting plots to entrepreneurs immediately. He stated that the park would bring micro, small, and medium enterprises in and around Kuppam onto a common platform. This would enable budding entrepreneurs to expand with modern infrastructure and create new opportunities for investment, entrepreneurship, and employment.
Highlighting that the State held a congenial atmosphere for investments, Mr. Naidu stated that industries were increasingly choosing Andhra Pradesh and contributing to sustainable employment generation. The Chief Minister mentioned that Kuppam was being developed as a hub for industry, agriculture, and services, supported by improved rail, road, and air connectivity. Asserting that industrialisation would be the cornerstone of employment generation and economic transformation in the region, Mr. Naidu said the tri-state Kuppam junction would undergo a massive industrial transformation. Calling for skilled workforce to match industrial expansion, the Chief Minister appealed to the youth to acquire new skills, think innovatively, and become job creators rather than job seekers.
