PM Modi Rajasthan, Gujarat Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on Saturday to inaugurate the country’s first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex in Balotra and a semiconductor assembly and test facility in Sanand, besides launching a host of infrastructure and development projects. PM Modi In Rajasthan As per the schedule, the Prime Minister will begin the Rajasthan leg of his visit from Jodhpur, where he will inaugurate the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport and launch the modified UDAN scheme aimed at strengthening regional air connectivity. Built at a cost of Rs 480 crore, the new airport terminal has the capacity to handle up to 20 lakh passengers annually. Spread across more than 23,000 square metres, the terminal incorporates modern passenger amenities, energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures and other sustainable features designed to achieve a 5-Star GRIHA rating.
Under the modified UDAN scheme, the Centre has earmarked Rs 28,840 crore over the next 10 years to expand regional aviation through the development of 100 aerodromes, 200 helipads, operational support for regional airports and continued viability gap funding for airlines, according to an official statement. PM Modi will later travel to Balotra, where he will dedicate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth around Rs 1.06 lakh crore before addressing a public meeting. Among the key projects is the 9 MMTPA greenfield refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra, developed as a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and the Rajasthan government at an investment of over Rs 79,450 crore. The complex has a petrochemical production capacity of 2.4 MMTPA and is expected to boost India’s energy security, petrochemical self-sufficiency and industrial development. The refinery was originally scheduled to be inaugurated in April, but the event was postponed after a major fire broke out at the facility a day before the planned launch. PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Rs 13,000-crore Phase II of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project. The 41-km north-south corridor, comprising 36 stations, will connect Prahladpura with Todi Mod, linking key industrial, residential and commercial areas, including Jaipur Airport, Sitapura Industrial Area, Vishwakarma Industrial Area, SMS Hospital and Vidyadhar Nagar.
