The Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken suo motu cognizance of alleged child abuse at a daycare centre operating within a corporate campus in Bengaluru. The action follows a viral video showing physical abuse of children. A fact-finding team is visiting the city to conduct an on-ground investigation. The commission has requested the local police to arrange security and facilities for the visiting representatives.
Meanwhile, police have conducted a spot inquest, retrieved closed-circuit television footage, and recorded statements from the daycare staff. One caregiver has already been arrested as the investigation continues into the incident.
